In 2022 and 2023, we completely renovated the Schleiferei II industrial monument, which now houses a total of six separate, modern holiday apartments. When designing, we followed the maxim of identifying and developing the particular charm of the historic building. Visible screet floors, raw masonry walls and exposed steel structural elements could thus be combined to create a harmonious overall impression. This is complemented by furniture that consist of a combination of vintage elements and modern design. For example, table tops were made from historic roof beams and combined with contemporary steel elements, beds were manufactured according to our own designs and juxtaposed with timeless design classics. The individual lighting concept highlights the particular features of each individual apartment.
The spectacular apartment #5, “Loft”, is spread over two floors of Schleiferei II. It is characterized by a large, open, multi-storey space in which the original crane runway was preserved. The historic turbine hall and a spacious veranda facing the private courtyard border this central location, so that the previous industrial use is immediately noticeable here. From the veranda you have a great view of the beautiful Sieber Valley.
The 265m2 large loft is furnished modern and to a high standard. It has a spacious living area, a large dining table and an optimally equipped kitchen island on the ground floor, which offers best conditions for ambitious cooking. There is also a bedroom, a shower room and a guest toilet on the ground floor.
On the upper floor, which is reached via a single-step staircase, there is an open gallery with another lounge area and two additional sleeping facilities for children, as well as two bedrooms, a shower room and a separate toilet.
The apartment is ideal for a family stay. The generous layout offers individual retreat options and also ideal conditions for social gatherings. In addition, the accommodation can be used as a cozy base camp for trips into the wonderful nature of the Harz Mountains - and of course as a place for a relaxing break...
The loft is designed for six people (basic price). Extra beds for two children up to 12 years of age are available at an additional cost, a baby cot is available free of charge on request. The ground floor is barrier-free accessible. Pets are not allowed.
