In 2022 and 2023, we completely renovated the Schleiferei II industrial monument, which now houses a total of six separate, modern holiday apartments. When designing, we followed the maxim of identifying and developing the particular charm of the historic building. Visible screet floors, raw masonry walls and exposed steel structural elements could thus be combined to create a harmonious overall impression. This is complemented by furniture that consist of a combination of vintage elements and modern design. For example, table tops were made from historic roof beams and combined with contemporary steel elements, beds were manufactured according to our own designs and juxtaposed with timeless design classics. The individual lighting concept highlights the particular features of each individual apartment.
The spacious apartment #3, “Sky” is located on the upper floor of Schleiferei II. From here you have a beautiful view of the large communal garden. The apartment is furnished modern and to a high standard and its character is defined by high-rise rooms and visible steel beams.
The 85m2 large apartment consists of two bedrooms, a combined living, dining and kitchen area and a bathroom with a shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and offers best conditions for ambitious cooking. The apartment is accessible via an external staircase. A storage room for bicycles can be shared on request.
The apartment is perfect for a family stay, even with a dog. The location on the upper floor offers both an ideal retreat and a wonderful view of the Harz Mountains and our beautiful communal garden, where a sunny outdoor seating area and the large sandpit invite you to relax in nature. The accommodation can also be used as a cozy base camp for trips into the wonderful nature of the Harz Mountains - and of course as a place for a relaxing break...
The apartment is designed for four people (basic price). An extra bed for children up to 12 years old is available at additional cost, a baby cot is available free of charge upon request. The apartment can be combined with the neighboring apartment #4, “Forest” via the common entrance area and thus also offer privacy for larger families or groups. One dog is allowed upon request, other pets are not allowed.

We (2 adults + 2 children + 1 dog) had a very nice and relaxing time in October. The apartment was furnished as tastefully and stylishly as in the photos. Great attention to detail, color-coordinated but not cool. There is really everything you need, but not overloaded. We really liked the mix of new, modern, industrial and old. We were able to cook, eat, relax and sleep well. A few days before our short vacation, we received tips on how to get there, handing over the keys, shopping and restaurants. Schleiferei II is located right by the Sieber, there is the option to sit outside, a sandpit, covered parking spaces... the building and the outdoor area are just as appealing as the interior design. We were able to go hiking right from the house. The small town of Sieber with a park and a large playground is within walking distance. The extended weekend at Schleiferei 2 was simply and utterly beautiful! We felt completely comfortable and lacked nothing - even our little whirlwinds had a lot of fun, for example in the sandbox (where there were even some toys available). Hartmut and Friederike have used high-quality components and timelessly elegant, cozy furnishings in the renovation and setup.
